Marrow & Oak — Restaurant Identity

Client — Marrow & Oak

A full identity for a live-fire restaurant — a hand-drawn monogram, a warm type system, and menus and signage that carry the smoke-and-embers idea from the door to the plate.

Marrow & Oak — Restaurant Identity

The work

Role

Lead Brand Designer — owned positioning, the logo and monogram, the type and color system, and every piece of print from menus to matchboxes.

Process

Began with a half-day workshop and a look at forty neighbourhood restaurants to find the white space. Drew three directions by hand, refined the chosen monogram across sizes, then built the menu, signage, and packaging around it.

Outcome

The identity anchored a sold-out opening month and a feature in two city guides. The owners now brief new collateral straight from the guidelines, and covers ran 20% ahead of the first-year plan.
